ITINERARY
Day 1 :
Arusha
Arrive in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at your hotel or explore the city’s vibrant markets and cultural spots. With views of Mount Meru in the distance, Arusha offers a warm welcome and a comfortable starting point for your safari. Overnight in a well-appointed hotel.
Day 2 :
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds, towering baobab trees, and the Tarangire River that draws wildlife throughout the dry season. Enjoy game drives in search of lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and more than 400 bird species. The park’s varied landscapes from riverine forests to open grasslands offer diverse photographic opportunities. After a full day, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 :
Central Serengeti (Seronera)
Journey through the Ngorongoro highlands into the central Serengeti, a region renowned for its predator population and scenic beauty. Game drives along the Seronera River often reveal leopards draped in acacia trees, prides of lions resting on rocky kopjes, and herds of elephants wandering the savannah. The permanent water sources here ensure exceptional wildlife viewing all year. Overnight in a central Serengeti tented camp.
Day 4 :
Northern Serengeti National Park
Travel north into the remote wilderness of the northern Serengeti, where the Great Migration creates one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles. Between July and October, vast herds of wildebeest and zebras cross the crocodile-infested Mara River, followed by predators lying in wait. Spend the day witnessing the action, from tense river crossings to predator-prey chases. In the evening, relax in your camp surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
Day 5 :
Central Serengeti & Hot Air Balloon Safari
Wake before dawn for a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti. As the sun rises, watch the plains come alive from above, with herds of wildebeest, elephants, giraffes, and predators moving across the landscape. After landing, enjoy a champagne breakfast in the bush. Continue your day with game drives in the central Serengeti, exploring kopjes, river valleys, and open plains. Search for cheetahs on the hunt, elephants at waterholes, and hippos in the rivers. Return to your camp for your final night in the Serengeti.
Day 6 :
Ngorongoro Crater
Depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Descend into the crater for a game drive across grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes. Spot the Big Five, hippos wallowing in pools, and flamingos decorating the shores of Lake Magadi. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend the rim and return to Arusha, marking the end of your incredible Great Migration safari.
